Pediatric Dentistry
With a pediatric residency carried out at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, Dr. Barta has a full dental education to care for your entire family from the first tooth onwards! Our team loves to work on those little smiles and strives to provide a fun and stress-free environment for your children’s dental appointments.
Oral Surgery

For those with anxiety about such procedures, we offer in-office sedation upon request for added comfort. Hospital Dentistry
If extensive dental work is required or a patient experiences high levels of anxiety or has special needs, a hospital setting might offer more comfort. MEET DR. BARTA
Dr. Barta has been meeting dental needs of Kenosha area families since 1988. He received both his undergraduate and dental degree from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Barta completed his residency in Milwaukee from Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in 1990. He is on the medical staff at United Hospital Systems. With continuing studies, Dr. Barta strives to provide the best care for all individuals. He has served the Kenosha community where he lives by advising professional education programs, providing Head Start dental examinations, and speaking at elementary schools.
ABOUT MARY
From preventive dental cleanings to periodontal and dental implant management, Mary brings over 20 years of experienced clinical dental hygiene care to patients of all ages. She enjoys providing comfortable, quality care in a pleasant environment. Patient education, treatment and self-care recommendations are customized based on the patient’s current needs and concerns, and with the goal of achieving and maintaining a lifetime of healthy smiles. Mary has worked as Dr. Joe’s primary hygienist for 12 years.
ABOUT DARA
Dara has been in the dental field for 30 years working as a dental assistant, and for the last 5 years at our office as Front Desk Administrator and assistant when needed. She has worked in several offices and for the Department of Corrections in the dental department. Dara has been happily married for 27 years and is the mother of two grown sons. She cherishes her time with family, especially camping in the Dells area.
ABOUT MARIA
Maria has been working as a dental assistant for 8 years with almost 2 years of those at Kenosha Smiles. We are proud to have her bilingual Spanish/English language ability to help interpret with patients who are not fluent English-speakers. Maria does a wonderful job helping those Spanish-speaking patients leave the office knowing the doctor understands their concerns. She also loves the opportunity to help educate about oral hygiene and to make patients feel comfortable during their visit at the dentist. Maria has been married for 23 years, has two sons, three cats and two dogs.
ABOUT KAREN
Karen has 30 years of experience working as a dental receptionist, 16 of those at Kenosha Smiles. Karen is always happy to schedule appointments, submit insurance claims for the patient, and answer all questions about treatment, billing and insurance. Karen demonstrates that our patients are important to us and wants each one to know that we understand their dental needs and are here to serve them.
